Why is the sanding belt on my Grit machine not running in the center?
Question:
Why is the sanding belt on my Grit machine not running in the center?
Answer:
There are several possible reasons why the sanding belt is not running centrally.
1. On a new machine, the sanding belt may run off-center if the belt tensioning lever has not been pushed all the way to the stop after the sanding belt has been tensioned. To tension the sanding belt, a pressure point must be overcome until the belt tensioning lever audibly and noticeably rests against the stop.
2. The belt run can be adjusted using the star screw. Please refer to the instructions in the operating manual. These can be found in the spare parts catalog on our website.
3. Another cause of off-center belt running can be a worn drive pulley. Check the drive pulley and the contact pulley.
for wear, deformation, and damage. Clean the drive pulley and the contact pulley with compressed air. Have damaged parts replaced immediately! The drive pulley must have a measurable elevation over approximately 2/3 of the pulley width. This elevation is necessary for the belt to run centrally. If the drive pulley is completely flat, it must be replaced.
