Question:
What does tool-free tool changing mean and is this possible with core drilling machines?
Answer:
Tool-free tool change means that the tool / accessory can be clamped or unclamped without tools (e.g. Allen key, open-end wrench, screwdriver, etc.).
All FEIN devices marked with a Q in the type designation have a tool-free tool holder.
A tool-free core drill change enables the insert tool to be changed in seconds. This offers great advantages when several different drill diameters need to be drilled on one component/workpiece. In addition, there is no need to carry an Allen key and there is no annoying loss of fixing screws (worm screws).
For cutting depths of 110 mm, the use of a manual clamping system is recommended for reasons of clearance and the drilling behavior of the core drill when it hits the material. A tool-free tool change is not possible here.
