How do I remove the chuck from the tapping machine?
Question:
How do I remove the chuck from the tapping machine?
Answer:
Two stripping wedges are required to remove the chuck. For small tapping machines such as GWP 10, AGWP 10, ASg 636 and ASge 636 with output taper B12, you will need the drive-off wedges with the order number 63305009013. For the large tapping machine ASg 648 and ASge 648 with output taper B16, you will need the drive-off wedges with the order number 63305010015. The drive-off wedges are placed against each other between the chuck and the gear housing. Place one wedge on a work plate. Use a hammer to drive the opposite wedge inwards until the chuck is blasted off.
