Use of personal data / right to withdraw consent for advertising

We only collect personal data which you have knowingly provided, e.g. via input masks. This data is initially processed in order to process your request. We also use your name and address to occasionally send you advertising by post. If you do not agree to this, you can withdraw your consent for your data to be used for this purpose using the contact details provided in the Legal notice section, ideally by e-mailing: info@feinus.com. You will only receive phone-based and electronic advertising if you have expressly agreed to this, in particular if you have registered for our newsletter (see below). You can also withdraw your consent (for advertising) at any time using the contact details provided in the Legal notice section. Unless otherwise stated, data will only be shared with third parties without your express consent if this is necessary in your interest or if this is required by law.

Registering for the newsletter and the double-opt-in process / right to withdraw consent

We will use your e-mail address to regularly send you our newsletter containing news, promotions and information about your selected subject areas if you have expressly consented to this in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter a) GDPR. The provision of an e-mail address is sufficient to receive our newsletter. The provision of further, separately marked data is voluntary and will be used to address you personally.

When using the newsletter, user behaviour is evaluated in order to be able to better tailor our offers, services, information, content and website content to your personal interests in an optimised form.

These include:
- e-mails sent and delivered
- openings and clicks within the e-mail
- end device & e-mail client usage
- clicks, openings and delivery within the e-mail over time
- bounces
- unsubscribes
- activity rate
- activities related to the website, mobile apps or social media

Your data will be sent to our software service provider Inxmail GmbH in Freiburg for dispatch & evaluation purposes. It will not be sent other third parties or to third countries. Your data will be stored for as long as you wish to receive the newsletter.

You can unsubscribe at any time, for example via a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@feinus.com. Neither option incurs any costs other than those for the sending of your unsubscribe declaration in accordance with basic tariffs. You can also use the above-mentioned e-mail address to have your data rectified or deleted.

my.FEIN

my.FEIN allows you to use online and mobile services from FEIN. Registration with my.FEIN is free of charge. To do this, we need your first and last name, your e-mail address and postal address, as well as other data about your company, such as the industry, company size, number of power tools you use and the number of power tools you use from FEIN. For individual services within my.FEIN, it may be necessary to provide further data, such as tool data for registration for the 3-year warranty. The data you provide on my.FEIN will be used by C. & E. Fein GmbH and by your respective contractual partner (FEIN subsidiary or distributor) on the basis of Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter b) GDPR. In addition, your contractual partner only uses your postal address to occasionally send you further information about FEIN products. You can withdraw your consent for your data being used by your contractual partner for advertising purposes at any time without the need for a specific form; ideally this should be done by e-mailing the following address: info@feinus.com.

At my.FEIN, we may receive data about you from third parties. For example, instances may arise where a dealer registers a tool purchased by you for the 3-year warranty and, for this purpose, sends your first and last name, e-mail address and postal address, as well as other data about your company, such as the industry, company size, number of your power tools and number of your power tools from FEIN to FEIN and your respective contractual partner (FEIN subsidiary or distributor). Should this happen, the dealer is only permitted to send data if they have informed you that your data will be stored for the purpose of warranty registration at FEIN as well as your respective contractual partner (FEIN subsidiary or distributor) and they have received your consent. The dealer is responsible for this. If FEIN has an e-mail address for you, you will receive a registration confirmation from us by e-mail, containing the warranty conditions and the data protection declaration. The dealer is prohibited from using the purchaser's data for his or her own purposes.

Moreover, with my.FEIN you have the option of creating third parties such as employees as potential users in your own account and thus inviting them to my.FEIN. In order to do this, you must provide data such as the first and last name as well as an e-mail address at which the person to be invited can be reached. You can also provide further data about this person in this way, such as their user name, telephone number and role in the company. The data relating to these people will be sent to FEIN as well as to the respective FEIN subsidiary or distributor. In addition, this data can be viewed by other users of your account, for example if these users have administrator rights. The prerequisite for the collection, processing and transmission of data to FEIN and the respective FEIN subsidiary or distributor is that you have informed the data subjects in advance about the collection, processing and transmission of data and that you have their consent. You are responsible for this.

FEIN app

As well as the functionalities of my.FEIN, the FEIN app also offers you further selected online functionalities on mobile end devices, such as direct contact with FEIN or networking with power tools, for example via a Bluetooth wireless connection. Additional data such as location data may be collected as part of these functionalities. The user is free to agree to the location determination or to enter any location instead. Furthermore, within the scope of these functionalities, data on the use of FEIN power tools can also be collected, processed and sent to FEIN and the respective FEIN subsidiary or distributor. This data includes information about when, where, how and how often you use these tools (e.g. operating hours). This data is used by C. & E. Fein GmbH and the respective FEIN subsidiary or distributor on the basis of Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter b) GDPR.

Additionally, the FEIN app can also record, process and send personal data to FEIN and the respective FEIN subsidiary or distributor who work with your FEIN tools, for example if they have a Bluetooth wireless connection. In addition to personal data such as first and last name, e-mail address and postal address, this data also includes information about when, where, how and how often this person uses these tools (e.g. operating hours). In this case, the collection, processing and transmission of data to FEIN and the respective FEIN subsidiary or distributor is only permitted if you have informed these persons in advance about the collection, processing and transmission of data and you have their consent. You are responsible for this.

Registration data linked to the 3-year warranty

The 3-year warranty is a service within my.FEIN. Based on Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter b) GDPR, C. & E. FEIN GmbH and your contractual partner (FEIN subsidiary or distributor) will use the data you provide here to implement the contractual relationship established with you. In addition, your contractual partner only uses your postal address to occasionally send you further information about FEIN products. You can withdraw your consent for your data being used by your contractual partner for advertising purposes at any time without the need for a specific form; ideally this should be done by e-mailing the following address: info@feinus.com. Registration for the 3-year FEIN PLUS warranty can be withdrawn at any time. The corresponding data is then deleted with immediate effect. Please note that all the data you have provided in relation to the 3-year FEIN PLUS warranty will be lost and you will no longer be entitled to the extended warranty.

Please send written notice to this effect
by e-mail to info@feinus.com.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer to analyse your site usage. The information gathered by the cookie about your site usage is usually sent to a Google server in the USA, where it is stored. However, if IP anonymisation has been activated on this site, in member states of the European Union and other countries which are signatories to the EEC agreement, your IP address will first be shortened by Google. In exceptional cases, the full IP address will be sent to and shortened on a Google server in the USA. Google will use this information on behalf of the site operator to analyse your use of the site, compile reports on site activity, and provide other services relating to site and Internet usage. The IP address collected by Google Analytics will not be linked with any other data held by Google. You may disable cookies by selecting the appropriate setting in your browser. Please note, however, that this may prevent you from making full use of the functions on this website. You may also prevent the site usage data collected by cookies (including your IP address) from being stored and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available through this link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the following link. This sets an opt-out cookie, which prevents your data from being recorded in the future when you visit this website:

Please also note that the “gat._anonymizeIp();” code has been added to Google Analytics on this website to ensure anonymised collection of IP addresses (what is known as IP masking).

Facebook social plug-in

Our website uses social plug-ins (“plug-ins”) from facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plug-ins can be recognised by one of the Facebook logos (white “f” on a blue tile or a “thumbs up” sign) or are identified by the words “Facebook Social Plug-in”. You can see the list of the Facebook social plug-ins and what they look like here: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins.

When you access a page on our website that contains one of these plug-ins, your browser establishes a direct link to the Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in is transferred directly from Facebook to your browser and integrated by this into the website. We do not therefore have any influence over the amount of data that Facebook collects using this plug-in and can therefore only inform you of what we know:

By integrating the plug-ins, Facebook receives information, indicating that you have accessed a particular page on our website. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example if you click on the Like button or provide a comment, information relating to this is transferred from your browser directly to Facebook, where it is stored. If you are not a member of Facebook, it is still possible for Facebook to find out and store your IP address.

For details of the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, your rights relating to this and settings options to protect your privacy, please refer to the data protection notices provided by Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you are a member of Facebook and do not want Facebook to collect data about you via our website and to link this to your member data stored by Facebook, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also block Facebook social plug-ins using add-ons for your browser, for example using the “Facebook Blocker”.

Other cookies

In addition, we only use what are known as session cookies, which allow you to use certain functions of our website. These are automatically deleted at the end of your session.
